Spain: training sessions on the Convenio website

Joseph et Bob
First in the Middle East, the training enabling Convenio's II public website to become accessible was organized by Technosite for trainees from arcenciel's team. The workshop took place in Madrid from the 8th till the 10th of July 2013.Technosite a member of the ONCE Foundation Group, has become a recognised leader in the accessibility and usability sector. It is renowned for its range of accessibility services, part of its complete range of Internet services.

The spanish trainer explained the concept of accessibility and its importance. He defined the different types of the user's experiences (blindness, low vision, motor issues …) as well as the advantages of having an accessible website (such as increasing the customer loyalty). He also explained the standards (W3C, WAI) and guidelines (WCAG 2.0) for accessibility and how to make a digital document (word or PDF) accessible.
The training turned out to be a success, mainly because the trainees were able to think in an accessible way since they were able to put themselves in the shoes of users with disabilities.
